The 2001 International
Workshop on
Object and Component Technologies for Cluster Computing
(OCT'2001)
May 16-18, 2001

Australia
Call for Papers
Scope
With powerful microprocessors and high-performance networks being available
as commodity components, clusters of computers are increasingly being used
as a low-cost alternative to traditional parallel machines. The software design
for such machines is still a challenge. Distributed objects (or components)
provide a powerful paradigm for writing applications on clusters. However,
there are still many issues which need to be explored for object-based cluster
computing.
OCT 2001
solicits research papers that focus on any aspect of applicability of the
object model to clusters. Relevant topics include, but not limited to:
- Object Models for Cluster Computing
- Object-based Languages for Clusters
- Design Patterns for Clusters
- Middleware and its Mapping on Clusters
- Object Quality, Reliability and Assurance
Paper Submission
Papers submitted to OCT 2001
must be unpublished and must not be submitted for publication elsewhere.
The manuscript must be written in English, at most ten pages long (including
figures and tables, but excluding references), single- or double-spaced,
using an 11-point font. Electronic submission in PostScript or PDF format
is required; papers should be submitted by email to either of the co-chairs.
All papers will be reviewed. The deadline
for submissions is November 4, 2000. Decisions will be announced by December
20, 2000. Accepted papers will appear in the proceedings of CCGrid'2001,
to be published by IEEE Computer Society Press.
