Assignment 10 - Index

Index
Due by Midnight on March 23, 2001
Index - 8 points
STAIR - 2 points

Create your home page. Now you will make your webpages LOOK like webpages!

This page should be called index.html. It should be located in the public_html subdirectory. It should have appropriate permissions set. Include at least one example of each of the following:

The index page must have the following working and future working links: Failure to have the above links list on the page will result in the loss of 5 points.

Note that once you have an index.html file located in your public_html subdirectory, a URL call to that directory will no longer contain an index of the directory. Now it will simply call up this file. Be sure you have links to all your earlier assignments available on this home page.

Create an additional text file called stairindex.txt which will be your STAIR, outlining the process which used went through to tackle this assignment. A STAIR is worth 2pts. FTP this file to phoenix. Make sure there is a link to it.

This is also a good place to start putting some of your favorite links. You may want to set up your browser so it automatically starts at your home page. By doing this, you give yourself a customized 'table of contents' for your browser.

If you would like to see samples of what I did in this class you may visit my work at n241work.html. My "index" page can be found at Home or by clicking on the Margaret's Homepage link in the contents column of your class page.

Special thanks to Leanne Burrow, Andy Harris, Bob Molnar, Paula Trefun, and Jennifer Stewart for their input, inspiration, content, code, lessons, and giving me the opportunity to boldly going where I have never gone before. Thanks! - Margaret Lion
