Assignment 2 - Web Search

Web Search
Due by midnight on July 5, 2001
Points 1 point for each URL and 1 point for each answer for total of 10 points.
Email to Brian Lee at blee@cs.iupui.edu

Please use the World Wide Web to answer the following questions. When completed, type the answers/information for each item in the body of an email to Brian at blee@cs.iupui.edu. Again, do not send an email attachment. Each answer MUST include an answer to the question AND the URL on which the question was found. The URL given will be used to test the accuracy of the results. Be SURE to test your URLs in the location bar of your browser. Be careful about framed documents, as sometimes the URL in the location bar is not pointing to the page which contains the answer (and yes, we'll explain that later in the semester). Right click on the document and use the view info command to get the actual URL of the document (if you are not sure yes, we'll explain this in lab). You may have multiple browser windows open if you wish (e.g., you would be viewing both Netscape and Internet Explorer on your computer). Most important, HAVE FUN!!!

  1. What is the exact wording of the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights in the U.S. Constitution?
  2. Where is the network operations center for the Internet2 (abilene) network?
  3. What is today's date according to the Aztec calendar?
  4. Can hedgehogs be trained to use a litter box?
  5. Who is playing Frodo in the upcoming Lord of the Rings movie?

Special thanks to Leanne Burrow, Andy Harris, Bob Molnar, Paula Trefun, and Jennifer Stewart for their input, inspiration, content, code, lessons, and giving me the opportunity to boldly going where I have never gone before. Thanks! - Margaret Lion
