Benefits of Using Our Medical Billing Service
Collecting insurance money and billing patients is an important aspect of
a successful medical practice. Much of you income will come from insurance
payments. You need an efficient and cost effective way to file claims and
collect your fees. If you are just starting a practice or have a small
office, the money needed to buy a computer system and pay for the personnel
to operate it may not be in your budget at this time. Insurance claims can
be submitted electronically or with HCFA 1500. Either method demands
claims be complete with correct codes and comply with filing requirements
of the government and insurance companies.

The Cost of Doing Your Own Medical Billing
You can buy or lease a system, but there is a down side to this method of
billing. A system can cost well over $25,000. There will be ongoing
monthly or per claim charges in additioin to the cost. If you buy a system
and it does not work as you like, you can lose your investment as used
computers have little resale value. A lease ties you to a long term
contract that you cannot terminate. You must supply an employee to operate
the computer. You must train the employee to use the system and learn
about insurance and coding. Unless your staff has a lot of extra time,
you must hire another person. Even a part time employee is very costly.
You must pay wages, social security and fringe benefits. You may be
forced to let even a part time employee participate in your retirement
plan. Check this with your tax advisor. For example, at $12.00 per hour,
a 20 hour per week employee costs about $13,500 per year, not including
fringe benefits. $12.00 per hour is realistic; you cannot hire qualified
personnel at minimum wage. You also have added administrative problems
taking you away from the practice of medicine. You have the danger of
obsolescence and breakdown. If Medicare or other insurance carriers
change how you must submit claims, you must update or replace the system at
more cost to you.
With our service, it will be like having full time experience help at
a fraction of the cost.
