This part of the movie is meant to interpret the Sirens' Song in The Odyssey. I believe that the movie makers made a very good interpretation in the movie. I say this because in the movie, Ulysses, Pete, and Delmar seem like they cannot move or make coherent sentences when they are around the sirens. It seems like the sirens use the sound of their voices to take over the men.
This part of the movie is showing Ulysses' confrontation with The Cyclops. In the movie, The Cyclops tricks Ulysses and Delmar into thinking that they are just going to have lunch together, when in truth he just wants to take their money. He beats Ulysses and Delmar up, and takes all of their belongings.
