XHTML Assignment

Purpose

Illustrate basic competence at HTML development including XHTML and CSS.

Assignment

Build a basic page about yourself. Include information you'd like to share about your background, your family, your educational interests. Also include something interesting about yourself.

Technical Guidelines

The page should incorporate the following:

• The project must be written by hand, not using FrontPage, Dreamweaver or any other GUI editor (We will be able to tell.) You can use a text editor like notepad, mozEdit, or any other \ plain-text editor, but _not_ Microsoft Word or Works. (They do not create the code properly.)
• The code must be XHTML standards compliant. Use an XHTML validator to check your code.
• Use basic CSS style to dress up your code including color, background color, and font size
• Add a style to the body tag to specify the default background and foreground colors
• Incorporate at least two layers of headings to organize your page
• Validate your CSS using an online CSS validator
• Incorporate a link to one of your favorite web sites
• Add a link to a graphic that is already on the internet (If you want to incorporate one of your pictures, it already needs to be on the Internet. Your lab instructor can help you make this happen.
