Calling All Artists! National Design Competition
National Design Competition Starting October 16, 2009 FEED/READ will launch a national design competition for the reverse side of an upcoming FEED/READ 3 bag. All students are encouraged to create a design that complements the FEED/READ brand and aligns with FEED/READ’s mission and vision. The winning artwork will be printed on the reverse side of a new FEED/READ 3 bag. Submitted designs will be posted on the FEED Projects Facebook fan page. The design with the greatest number of “Likes” registered on the fan page by Tuesday, December 15, 2009 will be the winner. To submit a design, send a digital photo to infor@feedprojects.org by Tuesday, December 1, 2009. Mexico Immersion Community Program
The Mexico immersion program is a rich experience in language and culture. In addition to learning conversational Spanish, participants will expand their knowledge and understanding of Mexican culture and history first-hand, through classroom discussions, excursions to various sites in Mexico and by living with a Mexican host family.

Titleist Performance Institute Golf Specific Training Program
This program is instructed by Healthplex’s Titleist Performance Institute Certified Golf Fitness Instructor, Tomo Shimano. The program includes a golf specific assessment to find you weaknesses and/or limitations. It also includes either a program or 30 minute training sessions to correct your weaknesses and/or limitations and make you physically better for your golf swing therefore improving your overall golf game. Programs • Assessment- Members: $75, Non-members: $85 (You will be assessed on 11 golf specific mechanics) • Assessment and Program- Members: $150, Non-members: $170 • Assessment and 6-30 Minute Golf Specific Training Sessions- Members: $300, Non-Members: $350 • Assessment, 12–30 Minute Golf Specific Training Sessions, Re-Assessment- Members: $550, Non-members: $650 All sessions are individual sessions. Flash CS4: Interactivity Basics
Flash CS4: Interactivity Basics Intended for experienced Flash designers ready to learn the basics of programming ActionScript, Flash's native scripting language. This workshop covers the basics of ActionScript 3.0 and provides an overview of using it to create interactive, non-linear Flash movies. Topics covered include how to architect Flash movies for optimal flexibility and maintainability, deploying movie clip and button symbols, and displaying text messages dynamically, based on user activity. Participants will: architect movies using nested timelines create and edit button symbols understand and specify events write ActionScript 3.0 code in the Actions panel populate text fields dynamically control hierarchically organized timelines using ActionScript 3.0 publish Flash movies (to HTML) The following workshops are suggested prerequisites to this workshop: Flash CS4: The Basics Participants should already be able to: draw graphics using Flash's vector drawing tools assign content to layers in the timeline use keyframes to control changes to objects on the stage understand when and how to create graphic, button, and movie clip symbols
